Oregon mental health providers grow increasingly concerned about the ethical practices of online mental health platforms. We are exploring ways which legislation may help protect clients and providers against misuse of a client's private medical data for advertising, as well as other important ways that following the code of ethics of our profession keeps clients safe.  We will post updates to this work here.

On June 22, 2022, three senators including Ron Wyden from Oregon called on Betterhelp and Talkspace to answer questions regarding how they are using client data.
